Strengthening Research Access through One Nation One Subscription (ONOS)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of ONOS resources on faculty members and research scholars at Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University (CBPBU). For primary data, a survey method along with well-structured questionnaire was used. The study revealed a high level of awareness (over 80%) and substantial adoption (75.2%) of ONOS resources among the academic community. E-journals emerged as the most frequently accessed resources, primarily used for research, thesis writing, and academic reference. While overall satisfaction regarding accessibility and user-friendliness was high, challenges such as limited remote access, lack of structured training, and moderate departmental promotion were identified. The study established that ONOS has significantly enhanced research productivity and scholarly access at CBPBU, particularly benefiting research scholars. However, strengthening awareness programs, technical support, and remote accessibility could further maximize its impact. The results contribute to understanding the institutional-level effectiveness of ONOS and offer recommendations for improving its implementation in higher education institutions.
